    • Reflect on past experiences—both positive and negative—that have shaped who you are.
    • Complete a Pattern for Ministry Profile and explore its significance in understanding possible areas of ministry.

    One of Paul’s most personal letters, Philemon puts Paul’s rhetoric on full display as he applies the principles of Christian equality and redemption to the unequal social relationship of a master and his runaway slave. Understand this short book as a rhetorical masterpiece and as a model for navigating social relationships. Intermediate to Advanced level.


    During the 2 week class, you will learn to:
    •Read, with appreciation, Paul’s letter to Philemon from the standpoint of its rhetoric.
    •Use Paul’s letter to Philemon as a model for us on how to navigate unequal social relationships in your own life.
