    Humanity & Sin

This course is a study of the nature of man from a biblical perspective including the pre-fall and post-fall state of humanity and the implications of being created in the image of God. How are we in his likeness? What are the relationships between our bodies, souls and spirits and what makes us be us? What are Biblical perspectives on the roles of men and women? Sin will be examined by asking questions such as: What is sin? Where did it begin? Why did God allow it? What about “original sin” and free will? How do these doctrines affect our understanding of salvation by grace (or vice versa)? All of these theological discussions will put into perspective how we glorify God and relate to people in this world.

    What You'll Discover

How your understanding of the nature of man affects:
     • almost every other doctrine of theology,
     • your views on sociology, psychology, politics and the family,
     • how you minister and relate to all people, and
     • how you view yourself and your responsibility for your actions.

    Weekly Topics

Week 1 • Why Did God Create Man?
Week 2 • Constitution of Man
Week 3 • Creation of the Soul
Week 4 • The Imago Dei in Humanity
    Week 5 • Original Sin
Week 6 • Original Sin (Part II)
    Week 7 • Free Will
Week 8 • Men and Women – What’s the Difference?
